Mar 15, 2024 | News

The Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) has organised a Sport for All event tomorrow March 16, 2024, at Makhamba Primary School in Dedza from 8:00 am. The event aims to promote sports participation among Malawians of all ages, abilities, and genders, and raise awareness of the benefits of sports and physical exercise.

This event follows the successful relaunch of the Sport for All Program in Ntcheu, where Inkosi Gomani V was announced as the initiative’s ambassador. Other Sports for All events have taken place at Bembeke and Malonda primary schools in Ntcheu, as well as at Kankao ground in Balaka.

The day’s activities will begin with a healthy walk at 8:00 am from Airwing to Makhamba Primary School, located in Inkosi Kachindamoto’s area. The rest of the activities will begin at 9:00 am and include netball, football, wheelchair races, aerobics, athletics, skipping, volleyball, and walking races for the elderly, among other activities.

The event’s guest of honour will be Inkosi Kamenyagwaza who will be representing Inkosi Gomani V. The event will also be attended by Inkosi Kachindamoto, the Dedza District commissioner, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and chiefs. The event will be spiced up by traditional dances.

MNCS introduced the Sport for All program to encourage citizens to take part in sports and physical activities regardless of gender, age or ability.
