SPORT FOR ALL GOES TO BALAKA

As one way of promoting and encouraging sports participation by all Malawians regardless of gender, age, or ability, and at the same time to raising awareness on the importance and benefits of taking part in sports and physical exercise the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) has planned a Sport for All event on Saturday 20 January 2024 at Group Village Head Chanthunya at Nkankao ground in Balaka.

The event is one of the follow-up activities taking place after the successful re-launch of the Sport for All Program in Ntcheu where Inkosi Gomani V was unveiled as the ambassador of the initiative.

The other Sport for All events took place in Ntcheu at Bembeke and Malonda primary schools respectively.

Activities of the day will start with a healthy walk from Mtsinje wa Chete which is located in Kambadya village up to Nkankao ground where the rest of the activities shall take place from 9:00 am and they include netball, football, wheelchair race, aerobics, Volleyball, athletics, skipping, and walking race for the elderly and many other activities.

The guest of honor at the event will be Senior Chief Makwangwala who will be representing Inkosi Gomani V who is attending other duties. The event will also be attended by Traditional leaders, religious leaders, and chiefs and will be spiced up by traditional dances.

MNCS introduced the Sport for All program to encourage citizens to take part in sports and physical activities regardless of gender, age or ability.
