Malawi National Council of Sport (MNCS) board member Ms Suzan Namangale on Saturday afternoon presided over the launch of a newly renovated basketball court at Bambino private schools in Lilongwe.

The court had been in bad shape, but it has now been given a new face and will go a long way in developing and promoting the sport of basketball in the central region, as many teams will now be able to access it.

During the launch, Ms. Namangale extended her heartfelt congratulations to the management of Bambino Schools for their proactive efforts in revitalizing the basketball court. She emphasized the significance of such initiatives, echoing the sentiments of His Excellency, the President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, who has consistently championed the involvement of diverse stakeholders in developing the country and sport in particular.

Namangale also urged other stakeholders to emulate what Bambino has done and support the Government’s efforts to develop sports in the country.

The launch was attended by the Chairperson of Central Zone Basketball League Mr Chawanagwa Kayila and the Education Director at Bambino Schools Ms. Sandra Mkandawire.
