SPORT FOR ALL GOES TO THE SOUTHERN REGION

After launching the Sport for All program in the North at Uliwa primary school in Karonga and BUA CDSS in the Central region in Mchinji, the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS)will this coming Sunday 3 April, 2022 have a Southern region launch of the Sport for All program in Thyolo at Thyolo secondary school.

The Sport for All initiative seek to encourage the citizenly to take part in sport and physical activities.

Sport for All is designed to promote and encourage sport participation by all Malawians regardless of gender, ability, age and at the same time raise awareness on the importance and benefits of taking part in sport and physical activities.

Sport for All is also there to help people suffering from mental health to prevent committing suicide as it provides a platform where people share ideas, relieve stress and take them out of their ordinary environment to an atmosphere where they feel a sense of belonging.

Sport for All is also designed to help the citizenly have strong bodies which resist to diseases which occur because an individual is not physically active.

MNCS believes that only a healthy citizen can contribute positively to the national development agenda.

The theme for Saturday’s event is ‘’ Sport my health, my life, Let’s play’’.

Events that will take place during the program will include Aerobics, tag of war, Athletics, football and netball.

MNCS believe that the Sport for All program will help the citizenly take sport seriously and regard it as part of their culture.
