May 16, 2024 | News

36 sports administrators in Mchinji are currently undergoing a sports administration course that began on Monday, 13th May and will conclude on Saturday, 18th May 2024 at the District Commissioner’s chamber.

The course aims to build capacity for sports administrators in strategic planning, financial management, resource mobilization, sports facilities management, and transformational leadership. It also focuses on understanding the roles of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Malawi National Council of Sports, and Sports Associations.

The Malawi National Council of Sports has initiated these trainings through its Regional Sports and Recreation Development Officers to equip sports administrators in all regions across the country with skills and knowledge on managing finances, strategic planning, and writing effective proposals for corporate support.

The MNCS believes that with better strategic planning and resource management, sports in the country will be able to develop and thrive.

The participants in the course come from different sports associations in the district and from the Malawi Schools Sports Association. The training is being facilitated by officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. After the course, participants will receive certificates of attendance.
