MedHealth Malawi, a leading facilitator in extensive medical aid security company in Malawi has supported Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) with money amounting to K3,400,000 with the aim of assisting the Council to successfully conduct the first ever Mzuzu city half marathon which will take place on 5th March, 2023.
Making the announcement in Lilongwe today, Medhealth Malawi Sales Manager Maya Paul Kafwamba explained that they decided to partner with MNCS because they want to help in the development and promotion of sports in the country
‘’As Medhealth one of our corporate social responsibility is to promote sport in Malawi, the marathon fits well with our value proposition as an institution, because we have what we call wellness program whereby we promote screening and preventative activities, so we believe this marathon is one of the activities that is fitting well with our wellness program that is why we decided to come in and support the event’’ explained Kafwamba.
MNCS Administration Manager Henry Mereka explained that Council is very grateful for the gesture that MedHealth has shown to support the Mzuzu City Half marathon.
‘’They have come at a time when we needed them the most so that the marathon should be a successful event, we believe MedHealth has set a very good tone to all would be partners that can come in and help sport. They have demonstrated that sport can get a boost from partners like Medhealth and as well they have come at a time where Council is promoting the Sport for All initiative so that people live a healthy life. MedHealth has demonstrated that they are a good partner in sport development’’ explained Mereka.
The Mzuzu City half marathon will take place on 5th March, 2023 and will cost the Council K30,000,000. Apart from the marathon there will also be other activities which include fun run and aerobics on the day of the event.
