The Malawi Kickboxing national team won two gold and three silver medals at the just ended Africa day championship in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The individual’s gold medals were won through Jimmy Katsoko who was fighting in the heavyweight category and Lawrence Chingonga who was fighting in the lightweight category respectively.
Moreen Dzikambani who was fighting in the flyweight category, Moses Banda fighting in the welterweight category and Yamikani Matembeka fighting in the heavyweight category all won silver respectively.
During last years event the Malawi kickboxing national team won three gold and three silver medals.
The African day kickboxing championship is organized by the Zimbabwe kickboxing association in commemorating African day which takes place on 25 May every year, this was the second time for the Malawi kickboxing national team to compete at the tournament.
The Malawi National Council of Sports congratulate the Malawi kickboxing national team for raising the Malawian flag high at the championship.
