ALL SET FOR MEN’S 7’S NATIONAL FINALS

The Malawi Rugby Union (MARU) will hold the first-ever men’s 7’s national finals on Saturday, 25th May 2024, at the Limbe Country Club in Blantyre starting from 12:00 noon.

Four formidable teams, including the Chinsapo Buffalos, Sports Complex Jaguars, Luchenza Red Ants, and Hippos, will vie for the championship title. The stakes are high, with the winner taking home MK500,000, the runner-up receiving MK300,000, the third-place team pocketing MK250,000, and the fourth-place team not leaving empty-handed with MK150,000.

According to Jack Mphande, one of the event organisers, the men’s 7s national championship will assist the Malawi Rugby Union in unearthing hidden talent and selecting players for the national team. furthermore, the event will be free of charge.

The Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) and other well-wishers, including the MARU Chairperson, Mr Justin Mkandawire, have provided financial support for the one-day national finals.
