All is set for the 2023 Mount Mulanje porters’ race which will take place tomorrow at Likhubula valley in Mulanje from 6:00 am.
This year’s is the 25th anniversary of the race and will focus on assisting the recovery from cyclone Freddy which heavily affected communities around the mountain including the tourism industry.
Minister of Tourism Honorable Vera Kantukule will be the guest of honor at the event and after the main race there will be an island in the sky concert which will be headlined by Skeefa Chimoto and Mlaka Maliro.
The event is open to both local and international athletes and for one to participate in the race they have to pay MK2000(Women) MK3000(men) and MK15000 for international athletes. The Mount Mulanje porters’ race was established in 1996
