The inauguration of 2019 National Tennis Tournament to take place from 1 to 2 June at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).
According to Lawn Tennis Association of Malawi (Ltam) the tournament which has been sponsored by Tiwone Mdina is meant for female and male junior players under the age of 16, 14 and 12 groups.
The coordinator for Ltam Junior initiative (JTI) Hackson Methiwa said they have set aside k1.5 million for the contest in order to prepare the juniors for forthcoming international events.
“A lot of international junior activities are ahead of us and we will use this opportunity to modify our athletes”, he said.
Methiwa added that they have already informed regional committees to conduct the qualifiers three days before the contesting day.
