The meetings are part of Dr Kamata’s effort to familiarize himself with the sports associations

Notable past winners of the awards include Benadetta Kwimbira, Gabadhino Mhango and Tabitha Chawinga.

Since he was appointed CEO of MNCS, Dr. Kamata has met with ten sports associations. Similar meetings are expected to take place with other associations.

We expect that every athlete nominated in each category will attend the event

The court will go a long way in developing and promoting the sport of basketball in the central region, as many teams will now be able to access it.

This is the first phase of the meetings. Dr Kamata will meet with all the sports associations

Namangale was last year appointed as the ambassador of Gift of Chess in Malawi

Dr. Kamata is not new to the sports arena. He has previously served as Vice President of the Netball Association of Malawi and its representative on the Malawi Olympic Committee.
