MNCS Partners with Rab Processors in the Blantyre City Marathon

The Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS), the organizers’ of 2019 Blantyre City Marathon has partnered with Rab Processors Company which shall rehydrate the race with 1000 bottles of Vital Premium purified still water bottled in 500ml.

Anthony Kafuwa, Marketing manager for Rab Processors commended Malawi National Council of Sports for going ahead with reviving Blantyre City Marathon for the second time since last year in November. Mr Kafuwa said this during press briefing held at MNCS’s offices yesterday.

“We look at the Blantyre City Marathon as sport worth supporting and that is why we decided to rehydrate the race with Vital Premium purified still water”, he said.

Organizing Committee Chairperson for the Marathon, Martin Matululu thanked Rab Processors for coming with the donation that will ease some of logistics requirements that will fill water points along 42.195km.

“As one of the organizing committees for the second edition of Blantyre City Marathon, we really appreciate the support from Rab Processors Company. Gong along with our theme “Changing Lives” the earnings will be channeled to Pakachere Rehabilitations at Queens Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre”, he said.

The route starts at Ginnery Corner Roundabout in Blantyre near NBS Bank to Chichiri Roundabout where it branches off towards Kwacha Roundabout all the way to TVM, past St. Columbus CCAP Church and all the way to Kudya trading centre.

At Kudya, the route heads towards Zingwangwa and all the way to Stella Maris Secondary School where it turns towards Moneymen Club then past Catholic Institute (CI) and reaching Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre Central Business District.

Then it branches towards Kandodo Corner Shop where it turns off to Mbayani heading all the way to Kameza Roundabout before turning towards Machinjiri turn off at the Ernegem Filling Station.

The route proceeds into Machinjiri, past Luanda Trading Centre; Area 5; Mkolokoti, Makhetha before joining the road from Zomba at Peretia and going down past Lever Brothers; past Maselema Roundabout and reaching Chichiri Roundabout where it branches off Makata road and enter into Kamuzu Stadium for the finish line in front of the VIP Stand.
